Dr. Fouzia Aboobacker is an esteemed hematologist specializing in pediatric hematology and stem cell transplantation. Her medical journey began with the attainment of her Medical Degree (MBBS) in 1996, followed by a Diploma in Child Health in 2002 and a DNB degree in Child Health in 2006. Joining the Department of Hematology at Christian Medical College, Vellore, in September 2006, she underwent rigorous training, culminating in the completion of her Postgraduate degree in Clinical Hematology in August 2013. Demonstrating her commitment to excellence, she transitioned to the role of Assistant Professor in the same department in September 2013.
Throughout her career, Dr. Aboobacker has showcased exceptional proficiency in diagnosing and managing various hematological disorders, with a particular focus on pediatric cases. She specializes in primary immunodeficiency disorders, inherited metabolic disorders, red cell disorders, and hemostasis disorders. In her role as a Junior Consultant, she provides comprehensive care to inpatients, including stem cell transplantation for various hematological disorders. She actively participates in hemophilia clinics, collaborating with specialists to manage complications in hemophilic patients.
Dr. Aboobacker’s contributions extend beyond clinical practice. She engages in national health education programs and serves as a principal investigator for various research studies, including those evaluating the long-term safety and efficacy of treatments for hemolytic anemias. Currently, she leads research initiatives on primary immunodeficiencies and inherited bleeding disorders, showcasing her dedication to advancing knowledge and improving patient care. With over five years of consultancy experience, Dr. Aboobacker continues to play a vital role in managing complex hematological conditions and contributing to hematology research.
